What is it and what does it mean?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union (EU), which came into force on 25th May 2018. It impacts how businesses and public sector organisations can handle information regarding their customers/patients.
