WINTER 2011/12
FLU JABS
If you are aged 65 or over you should have a flu jab
every year. If you are under 65 with certain illnesses, you
should also have an annual flu jab. The groups we are targeting
are those with chronic respiratory disease (including asthma
needing steroid inhalers & COPD), chronic heart disease, chronic
renal disease, immunosuppression due to disease or treatment,
diabetes, chronic liver disease and chronic neurological disease
(eg stroke & TIA). We are also targeting pregnant women and
carers.
If you still have not received your flu jab please contact us at
your earliest convenience.
CHANGES TO OUR STAFF
After 12 years of service with West Bar Surgery, we wished
our practice nurse Robyn Baird a fond farewell. We wish her all
the best for the future.
Our Drugs and Alcohol Councillor, Ian Morrison has now retired.
We would like to welcome Claire Forrest, who has taken over from
Ian, to join the West Bar Surgery team. The clinic will
continue to run on a Tuesday during the hours of 9.00am -
5.00pm. If you have previously attended the clinic and have not
received treatment for a while then you will need to book an
appointment with your GP to be re-referred to this clinic.

new partner
We would like to welcome Dr Raj Gupta who will be joining West Bar
Surgery on the 7th February. Dr Gupta is joining us from Deer
Park Surgery as a Partner to replace Dr Tucker. He qualified as
a GP in 2009, and is particularly interested in Paediatrics and
ENT. Born and educated in Oxford, he has worked and studied all
over the UK. He is very much looking forward to joining West
Bar Surgery and we know he will quickly become an integral
member of the West Bar Team.
